Personal experience with 16'' CLK forged alloys on an 84 Westy, compared to anything, like 14'' Kumho rA08 I had

215/65 16 - some or other generic minivan grade meh brand with 97 load rating. Meh. Stay away from cheap 97 load rating tires in this size on a Westy.

215/65 16 continental contact 4x4 - 102 load rating and a fantastic ride. Tread life a bit short.

225/60 16 Michelin energy MXV4 plus - 98 load rating. Superb ride, great handling, fantastic braking. Sweet spot.

There, that's my experience. You need the torque to handle the extra tire height.

Chris.
