They are probably not from a Westy. There were a number of differences - not only in whether or not the various door panels had chrome strips and/or cloth at all, but even in the size of the cloth inlay itself - between various Vanagon models.  I've seen at least half a dozen variations myself, although a few were not U.S. market.  I'd imagine Chris Turner could expound on this more than I could; he's more knowledgeable about that sort of detail than I am.
