There was a tan aircooled AW here that I saw occasionally, then it turned up at a car repair place where it sat for a couple of years.� The shop guy wanted $4000 "and not a penny less" for it and then the van disappeared.� Turns out to have been bought by the already- two-Vanagon-owning parts guy at the local VW dealer.� Last I heard he was selling both the AW and his rusty Syncro.� Life goes on, even for the lucky Vanagons among us.

I've seen this AW around town for a few years.

Along with Harvest Gold and Avocado Green, the fine burnt-orange on this
van is a reminder of the color palette favored in the '70s.

I'll miss it -- if they actually sell it (price seems a /wee/ bit on the
high side) to a buyer who doesn't live here.
