I used a stock VW dome light as it has a three way switch , which enables you to turn if off if you want to when the sliding door is open. There are three terminals. 1 power, two grounds. One ground goes to the sliding door jam switch. The other can ground wherever is convenient.  I pulled the wires into the passenger side B pillar and up the fresh air vents.
