I keep wondering when Alistair is going to go into the Vanagon reproduction parts business. For those who don't have his resources, Van Café among others has them: http://www.van-cafe.com/home/van/search?keywords=sliding+door+handle&x=0&y=0 -----Original Message----- From: Vanagon Mailing List [mailto:vanagon@gerry.vanagon.com] On Behalf Of Neil N Sent: Saturday, June 28, 2014 2:02 PM To: vanagon@GERRY.VANAGON.COM Subject: Re: Slider door (early version) outer handle getting loose Quick note. There should be a (plastic?) bushing between the handle and door at exterior. If not present, the handle tends to crack and fail where it passes into the locking-opening mechanism housing. If I recall, Alistair posted of this on his blog. Yes. Here's an image of one he made and installed: https://shufti.wordpress.com/2010/02/14/sliding-door-escutcheon/img_1365/ entire post: https://shufti.wordpress.com/2010/02/14/sliding-door-escutcheon/ Neil.
