Windshield frame hole to interior. At least in Europe it turned out that a tiny spot usually ends up in a complete hole under the windshield seal rubber, including water ingress. Or maybe an aftermarket sunroof? If I had to connect the smell to the rust hole, I´d say it´s an eletrical smell. Check wiper motor (above glovebox). Check driver´s side fuse box and behind fuse box. Not unlike that same sort of smell that is produced in a car fire. > Stop and look everything over. Temp is reading its normal mid point, there's plenty of coolant in the reservoir tank. The temp light works on startup by blinking. Switch the air controls from cool to hot and the smell lessens but doesn't completely go away. > What is going on? Is it a radiator issue?
