I do not know if this helps you any, but I have my Kenwood CD deck hooked
up the way you described. After seating for 2 weeks I did not see any
issues with the van starting....

well that is until my starter gave up the ghost 3 days later, but I had
left the van parked like that with the memory and blinking LED alarm decoy
for a good 3 weeks and had no issues.
