Eric, Once again, I seem to be in a similar place as you on stuff. I have been meaning to replace my front speakers for some time, so picked up some Polk Audio speakers from the sale bin at Crutchfield years ago on their recommendation. I haven't installed them yet . . . but will after the van is painted. I did, however, have them install a Bazooka 6" subwoofer. They bolted it to the back of the front passenger seat, the back wall of the battery compartment. It made a HUGE difference in the sound quality of my stereo. Keep in mind that I had already put some sound deadening material in the passenger door and will do so with the driver-side door once painted.
