Subject:Re: $100 Reward to Solve Starter Problem

On those 2 wires plugging into the side of the relay box, the red wire
is constant battery power for use by the fuel injection system, so
careful, always hot, no fuse. The red/black wire is the starter motor
signal wire, from circuit 50 of the starter switch, and this is where it
joins with the fuel injection harness so the ECU and ICU can tell when
the engine is being started. My suggestion was to somehow maintain the
connection of the red wire while preventing the red/black from
connecting through into the FI harness. If doing that keeps the starter
from remaining activated then you at least know where to dig deeper.

The 2 pin connector there is just standard 1/4" spade pins. A short
piece of wire with a male spade end and a female spade end would let you
bridge the red wire alone.
