Here's a more complete breakdown. First thing I would question when I see a 'ZZZ' VIN is to ask about import paperwork and title to the vehicle.

VIN: WV2 ZZZ24 2 F G 097858

W = Germany (Country of Origin)

V = Volkswagen AG (Manufacturer)

2 = Address (Wolfsburg/Hannover)

Z = Character filler in EU only

Z = Character filler in EU only

Z = Character filler in EU only

24= Transporter (Pickups & Multivan)

2 = Check Digit

F = Model Year 1985

G = Steyr/Graz Austria (plant)

097858 = Sequential Number
