Front brakes I assume? Is the piston bore of your new calipers larger in diameter than the old? If so, in theory this would make the brake pedal travel longer. Other thoughts would be rear brake adjustment and air in the lines. And old hoses. Maybe they are swelling under pressure. Probably not, as the failure mode for hoses tends to be ID restriction and resultant dragging brakes. -----Original Message----- From: Vanagon Mailing List [mailto:vanagon@gerry.vanagon.com] On Behalf Of Harry Hoffman Sent: Tuesday, September 09, 2014 4:46 PM To: vanagon@GERRY.VANAGON.COM Subject: New brakes and pedal question Hi All, So, I've finally got the GoWesty bigger brake kit installed and we christened it with a great camping trip to Salisbury Beach State Park in MA. One thing I've noticed is that I was expecting the brake pedal to travel less to the floor then it currently was. Thought being new pads less travel. Is that a reasonable expectation or am I off the mark? Cheers, Harry
