We all laugh when we read it the first time. The funniest part is where I got it. I was reading an old Depression era the Hobo's guide of "How to survive in the jungle, and on the rails", hand book. It had recipes for all sorts of goodies, snakes, bugs, roots, even some mention about wolf droppings, etc. It told about how to go door to door pan handling, avoiding getting arrested for vagrancy, and how to get out of jail if you did. All the while working your way West to the "Garden of Eden", Californian.........if they only knew! A truly difficult time, some folks actually got them selves thrown in jail to eat. My parents lived through those times, I'm glad I didn't have to.
