My guess is that the timing would have to be pretty far off to make the engine stall like that. My other guess is that there's a related issue(s) causing this to happen. tencenlife on thesamba.com Vanagon/EV forum posted a great "full advance" method for timing the engine. Of note one has to identify the correct mark on the crank pulley for this method. http://www.thesamba.com/vw/forum/viewtopic.php?t=307893&highlight=setting+timing http://www.thesamba.com/vw/forum/viewtopic.php?t=261067 On 9/26/14, John Rodgers <jrodgers113@gmail.com> wrote: > I need someone to explain the setup for timing the engine. Step on the gas to go and it just quits. -- Neil n Blog: tubaneil.blogspot.ca '88 Westy http://tinyurl.com/c8rlw6p '81 VanaJetta 2.0 "Jaco" http://tubaneil.googlepages.com/ Vanagon VAG *Gas* inline-VR Engine Swap Group: http://tinyurl.com/d7gd5ej
