yes there's a benefit to remove the plastic plate to get more air though I
don't have numbers to prove it - if a plate is beneficial why don't they
install one in the driver's side?

I think the up side air grill opening is weird too, it should be either
upside down or horizontal forward or back - no I don't understand neither...
