There is no fabric on, or hole in, the post on my table. I switched knobs with my front table--which is not in the van. The different knob seemed to make a big difference and hold the table a little better. stan -----Original Message----- From: Vanagon Mailing List [mailto:vanagon@gerry.vanagon.com] On Behalf Of Neil N Sent: Monday, November 24, 2014 11:43 AM To: vanagon@GERRY.VANAGON.COM Subject: Re: Securing table My '81 Westy has an OEM threaded hole on the pillar ~ midpoint of the table. Though I modified my table to sit higher, I run a bungee between table arm and bolt with large washer at this threaded hole to keep table from swinging out. That said, on my '88 Westy, that pillar is covered in fabric. '90 is same? Don't know if all model year Vanagons have the same threaded hole at this pillar. I'd often thought to make a restraining "strap" of some kind to fit between a bolt at this hole and table arm. Could be as simple as a Velcro strap? Neil.
