I agree with Dug that the setup he mentions is probably the best
under-the-drivers seat
setup for the vanagon.   If you're in a hurry you can get the Odyssey PC1200MJT
and it
will easily fit under the drivers seat with room to spare.   Not as many
amp hours but probably
sufficient in a pinch.
