You can use either early or late style on a pre-’85 van.  Early is just longer.

Anyone have an extra after upgrading to the better new style?  They're sorta pricey from our friendly vendors and since new-style hardware seems a popular improvement, just thought I would ask before I drop $60+ on brand new... TIA, Don Hanson
