I actually can feel movement when I lift the door, indicating either loose bolts (not) or worn pins. I'm not saying jacking the door up will not fix the slight misalignment I have at the door latch, just saying I can feel that the hinge is slightly worn. And it is just very slight in the his case. I do not feel any looseness in the passenger side door. Alistair > On Feb 18, 2015, at 8:05 PM, Jeff Schwaia <vw.doka@GMAIL.COM> wrote: > > That is usually the culprit. People use the door to climb in and out. The hinges rarely wear out. I've been able to fix most of these with a floor jack and a 4x4 under the flat area near the rear bottom of the door. It takes a bit more effort than you may think... > > Cheers, > > Jeff > > > -----Original Message----- > From: Vanagon Mailing List [mailto:vanagon@gerry.vanagon.com] On Behalf Of Don Hanson > Sent: Wednesday, February 18, 2015 6:00 PM > To: vanagon@GERRY.VANAGON.COM > Subject: Re: Front door adjustment question > > You might try just lifting on the door.
