I was in the front seat in an accident in an Orange 2002 BMW. Not the year. The model. Siblings in the rear were fine. Mother split her lip on the steering wheel and I think my front tooth was broke. Baby tooth. Car was totaled on the freeway. If you can't put kids in the front. You can't have large families in the US. > On Feb 25, 2015, at 6:41 AM, Dennis Haynes <d23haynes57@HOTMAIL.COM> wrote: > > Some states have laws regarding children in front seats. > > Dennis > > > -----Original Message----- > From: Vanagon Mailing List [mailto:vanagon@gerry.vanagon.com] On Behalf Of Dave Mcneely > Sent: Tuesday, February 24, 2015 11:59 PM > To: vanagon@GERRY.VANAGON.COM > Subject: Re: Rear seat comfort on a Vanagon Westy? > > ---- Jeff Palmer <jpalmer@MYMTS.NET> wrote: >> Recommended that kids under 12 stay in the back. > > Actually, that recommendation is for modern cars with air bags. However, given the Vanagon's lack of a crumple zone, the recommendation makes sense for it, too. But not for the same reason as in modern cars. > > David McNeely
