Shift linkage is the most common failure point. If you haven't changed and lubricated all the linkage points... start there! -----Original Message----- From: Vanagon Mailing List [mailto:vanagon@gerry.vanagon.com] On Behalf Of John Rodgers Sent: Sunday, March 22, 2015 3:14 PM To: vanagon@GERRY.VANAGON.COM Subject: Shifting - '88 GL manual tranny My shifting is all messed and I cannot determine where the trouble is. Shifter, linkage from front to rear, or in the tranny itself. Sometime back, the method of trouble shooting this was posted, but I have not been able to find it. Anyone have this post or know how to do this? Please enlighten me! Will be most appreciative. John
