My daughter borrowed my 83 westy last night to run to the store. She returned saying that people had been slashing their lights at her and, indeed, the headlights were not working. I took a look this morning. Relays were clacking OK but no lights, with side, bright or dim. An examination of the fuse box showed that number 7 fuse was shriveled to the point that it had not blow but had shrunk in length to the point that it was no longer connected to the electrical system. Further examination showed it to be plastic. I replace it with a good ceramic fuse and hope all is well. I never even knew these fuses came in plastic; I have never replaced the one that's on the car until this incident. Just one more thing to check for. Jim
