Hi all. I'm re-reading posts on shimming the brake shoe lower mount. I bet I'm not the only DIY type to find the pins rusted in place without the proper means (torch) to remove them. If one made thin steel shims to fit over the mount pins, would this reduce purchase of shoe into pin too much and-or introduce other unwanted variables? i.e. make brakes unsafe? I know some vendors sell new backplates and pins.
