Which is sold as the VW Crafter, in Europe (and in Quebec, oddly enough). Basically a Mercedes Sprinter but with VW drivetrains. (Officially, the Sprinter was 'jointly developed' by Mercedes and VW.) Of course, today Dodge doesn't sell the Mercedes Sprinter; the Dodge ProMaster is a Fiat Ducato with a Chrysler V6 swapped in (unless you want the Fiat diesel - which you really should!). VW could start with something like the Eurovan, give it a little more road clearance, and make it just a bit bigger inside. It has less room than the Campmobile, but methinks it could be done. Isn't the California camper pretty close to what I want? It could be sold here. > > > > ---- Jim Felder <jim.felder@gmail.com> wrote: > >> As in, a Volkswagen Vanagon design that would meet current standards with a > >> Westfalia interior as close to the original as possible.
