Subject:Speakers for the front

So, I'm planning to give you a review later, but here's a sneak-peak.
I've been wanting to replace my front speakers ever since I bought my
van in March, 2000. I've gotten all kinds of recommendations, all bad.
I think I may have finally found the right speakers, albeit with some
quid pro quos, but I have a problem with my system that I need to get
fixed first before I'll know for sure.

The upside: These speakers fit. HOWEVER, you have to extend the window
crank handles. There ain't nothing out there that I've been able to
find that will obviate this need.

Here's what I've got:
Blauplunkt Blue Magic, CL-100:

Had to turn the grill sideways because they have this bar with the
Blauplunkt name on it that got in the way of the window cranks.

High-clearance window crank from Go-Westy:

This still can scrape across the surface of the speaker, but I'm
probably going to take them off and file down the back, behind the
knob, just a bit so they don't. If you pull out on it just a bit it
doesn't scrape the speaker.

After installation, of speaker and Dynamat, the driver's side sounded
great. Only problem is my system isn't wired right or something. The
right side doesn't work and the back speakers sound fuzzy for one
radio station but not another. I have a lifetime warranty on the
Crutchfield installation, so I'll let you know what they find out in a
week or two.

That's all for now.
