My father wrote this as one of nine “Two’s a crowd” limericks illustrated by John Dempsey and published in Playboy in the late 1950’s.

A fellow from old Copenhagen
Made a girl in his tiny Volkswagen
        The price was quite high:
        The shift in his eye,
And a slash from the dash on his noggin.
