I have no experience in trailer wiring but here what I did for my bumper carrier... I just use the snap-on connectors to piggy back the tail light, the stop light and the turn signal from the van tail light wiring loom... http://www.rapidonline.com/Cables-Connectors/Snap-on-and-Midway-Wire-Connectors-72345 it's working for me....
