We went to our favourite camping spot at Sharbot Lake Provincial Park, 110 km/70 miles west of Ottawa, and saw three T3 Westies and one T4 conversion over the weekend (the T4 conversion had a poptop from a T2 and a homemade interior!). One of the T3s had a pair of ocean kayaks on the roof - longer than the van - and a loaded bike rack on the hatch. Oh, and one sad abandoned Vanagon in a farm yard west of Perth. Ive seen 1 Westy on RTE 1 in Marshfield , 1 Sprinter camper with Euro plates in Machias and today I saw 1 Westy in Eastport. On similar trips in years past Ive seen many more. > Dake Ian > Wu-Wei - 86 Westy > > > On Aug 13, 2015, at 3:38 PM, James <jk_eaton@HOTMAIL.COM> wrote: > > > > We drove back from NS to Ottawa last weekend (with a 4x8 UHaul trailer - the little one - in tow). On the first day, from Masstown NS to Grand Falls NB, saw six Westies. On the second day, Grand Falls NB to Ottawa, saw 14 Westies (six T2s and eight Vanagons), and six VW Rialta motorhomes! > > > > James > > Ottawa, ON > > > >> Date: Sun, 2 Aug 2015 20:44:26 -0400 > >> From: uberhare@GMAIL.COM > >> Subject: Westies (or lack of...) > >> To: vanagon@GERRY.VANAGON.COM > >> > >> Drove 2200 km in 3 days across 4 provinces, and only passed 4 westies! > >> Normally I loose track before I get across Toronto on a long weekend! > >> Where are you guys?? > >> > >> Jason > >> Uberbus - somewhere on the east coast! >
