Hi Mark - At this point I have assumed either something is killing the coils or I have had bad workmanship from Bosch - other than the spare coil (original) which was reinstalled between new Bosch coil 1 and 2 which continued to work when pressed into service. I will give your suggestion a try - however if it does not start the van then what would you then deduce? I guess verification can also be made by checking resistance as per the Bentley - there are 2 tests for checking the coil.
