here's one .. rear hatch .. both hinges, and top and bottom pivot points on the gas struts, and latch mechanism. I never see those lubed, always needing it. hinges often sqeuaky. sliding door.. here's one if on the aft edge of the door there is still a black plastic cover, pry that off.. and spray lube the heck out of both ends of the 'track bar' or whatever you want to call it there. I saw one so neglected the sliding door would not close .. took days of repeated spray lubing to get it happy again. parking brake ! that ratchet and pawl mechanism... pivot pin, and push button ..they all need it. how many more do you want ? I do about 10 things in the throttle cable and gas pedal system . and throttle body. and ...and ....etc ! lol. scott On 8/17/2015 1:18 PM, Eric Caron wrote: > Hi folks, > > so, > > Lets trade easy to lube tips. One area is not lubed at all. I was told to clean and not lube the lower track under the floor. Instead I just keep it clean of dirt. The paint is still intact. lube i’m told would just hold the dirt and the track itself doesn’t need lube. > > so, I don’t know if this is really the case but my door is very quiet and I just clean the lower track after camp outs and when I wash the car. I’ll need to find a more permanent non staining lube for the future. > > And, yes, with my windows up cool air from the vents, and the fat mat sound deadening, I can hear clearly sounds coming from the back. the van is only loud when both front windows are down. > > > So, folks, share a lube tip, just one at a time so we can keep up with it and lets keep those vans working smoothly! > > Eric Caron > 85 GL Auto Westfalia > Currently a quiet camper. > >
