hmmm. tricky question... the new landrover evoque's come to mind with their buttery leather, but a "perfect" second car imho, is a reliable recovery vehicle. I once broke down in a 79 westfalia on I-80, 120 miles outside of slc. after hitching a ride back home (slc), i drove my 4-cyl, 4 door suzuki sidekick to uhaul, rented a tow hitch and dragged the van back home for repair. the suzuki was never the prettiest car, but i never got stuck (4wd), it had a ton of interior space and got 36mpg even after 60k miles. i couldn't kill it... jvk On 28 August 2015 at 08:44, Max Wellhouse <dimwittedmoose@cfu.net> wrote: > Bucket List?? 1967 Shelby 289 AC Cobra with the aluminum body and all > the "thunder" you can handle...... > > DM&FS > > > > ----- Original Message ----- > From: "Larry Alofs" <lalofs@GMAIL.COM> > To: "vanagon@GERRY.VANAGON.COM" <vanagon@GERRY.VANAGON.COM> > Sent: Friday, August 28, 2015 10:37:18 AM > Subject: Re: Friday: What's the perfect second car for Vanagon owners? > > Subaru engine in our '91 GL; Subaru Forester in our driveway. > > Need something AWD in Mich. > > Larry A. > > > On Fri, Aug 28, 2015 at 11:21 AM, Chris Szpejankowski < > szpejankowski@gmail.com> wrote: > > > Keep it in the family.
