From the factory there is a dedicated chassis ground at the ECU connector. There is a bundled ground in the fuel injection harness. Sometimes there are failures there.

from Dennis suggestion and after the capacitor fix I would suggest to add a
aground strap to the ECU - under the bench seat run a ground strap/wire to
the body.
