In December 1990 the DJIA was running around $4K. Today it is around $17.4K. So, $22K invested in a fund indexed on the DJ (I don't think there is any such fund, but there are funds indexed on the S&P) would be about $90K, a bit over that actually. mcneely ---- Dennis Haynes <d23haynes57@HOTMAIL.COM> wrote: > If $22,000 was smartly invested in 1990 what could it be worth today? > > Dennis > > > -----Original Message----- > From: Vanagon Mailing List [mailto:vanagon@gerry.vanagon.com] On Behalf Of Rob > Sent: Sunday, December 13, 2015 1:11 PM > To: vanagon@GERRY.VANAGON.COM > Subject: Re: Samba ad of the week > > I went to an inflation calculator, $22,000 in 1990 comes to $40,000 in > 2015 dollars. > I should have bought one then... > > Rob > vwrobb@gmail.com > On Dec 13, 2015 10:48 AM, "Roy Nicholl" <RNicholl@nbnet.nb.ca> wrote: > > > At double the show room price ;-) > > > > > On 10-Dec-2015, at 20:30, Stuart MacMillan <stuartmacm@GMAIL.COM> wrote: > > > > > > Wow, a 1990 Westy with 37k miles.
