Yes, the harness crosses the incoming fuel line, and the fire may have burned through hose and sealed it off.

fuel line that feeds the fuel pressure regulator was collapsed...

aaarghhh.. the wires at the power steering pump switch - I had the same
short but luckily escape damage... please redo and seal those wires real
good - those wires are very close to the intake manifold
