I’ve had rear brakes on my 2 primary Vanagons (Syncros) for years (probably nearly 10 years now). I did it mainly because it makes changing the pads a lot easier. Other than a rusty piston on one caliper I haven’t really had any issues. One time in an emergency situation I did have to slam on the brakes on my Westy (aka the heavier of the two), and even with larger wheels and tires, I was able to lock up all 4 wheels (20 feet of tire mark on the road). > On Feb 1, 2016, at 8:18 PM, Eric Caron <ecaron1@COMCAST.NET> wrote: > > Hi folks, > > I just read in the Go Westy sales email that they are working on a rear disc break. > > for the vanagon,Would rear disc breaks improve breaking noticeably?
