My son thought I was peculiar for buying another old Vanagon, and now he owns one too. Peculiar must run in families.

For those folks following my manual tranny issues - it took replacement with an overhauled unit to get the trouble under contol.

During all the searching around on trannies, I stumbled on a fellow that serves the local VW population by rebuilding trannies in his shop at home.
Has a  really good reputation locally. Peculiar fellow. He's one of the sort that has been around forever, but you would never know he's there but by word of mouth. I got one of his rebuilds. Now, hopefully, I can have tranny trouble free driving for the future.
