My experience mirrors others; what was showing was just the tip of a fairly small iceberg, but an iceberg nonetheless. The rust couldn't really be gotten to without removing the windshield. Oh, and removing the windshield equals replacing the windshield unless you're really darn careful or hire a professional to take it out and put it back in. The front windshield is designed to break easily so your head doesn't. Good luck!
