Subject:Wiring for Canadian 1991 Westy with daytime running lights and (not related) loose wire GR/W wire behind fuse panel.

Hi,

<posted on FB as well>

I've got a Canadian 1991 Westy with daytime running lights.

Several years ago I installed the headlight relay kit following the
instructions and not really understanding what was being done. I sat
down with the Bentley this rainy afternoon, took my fuse panel off the
firewall & sat down to truly understand. It all made sense until I
disconnected both relays and STILL had low beams.

It took a while, but I finallyhad an epiphany and realized the wiring
diagram in the Bentley didn't take into consideration the fact my van
(Canadian requirement?) has daytime running lights.

Does anyone have any references how the DRL's are wired? It does seem to
not run the low beam filament at the same power (voltage) as when the
headlights are turned on, but that might be just because the DRL's
aren't running through a relay & the low beams are.

Also, I found a Grey/White wire with a yellow connector loose behind the
fuse panel. It doesn't seem to have a mate anywhere to connect it to.
From my reading of the wiring diagram, I think it's the T1o on page
97.205 of the Bently. It's just hanging in space in the Bently, so I
guess it's OK to hang in space on my vehicle? It connects to the
Digifant Control Unit so that really made me kind of curious...

Cheers,
Steve W.
