Oh don't worry, every time I think I've done something special I see someone else has done it before, and a whole lot better. Latest example is this really nice (laser or waterjet cut?) stainless steel vent. My version totally pales in comparison. The nice one linked here http://www.daswolfgang.com/stainless-fridge-vent/ I try not to become depressed :-) Alistair > On Jul 19, 2016, at 8:23 AM, Roy Nicholl <RNicholl@NBNET.NB.CA> wrote: > > Stuart, > > Shhh! … dont’ tell Alistair he was out-shone by an OEM bit … he’ll go back into hiding and all we will see are bumper and ladder revisions for the next year ;-) > >> On 19-Jul-2016, at 12:19, Stuart MacMillan <stuartmacm@GMAIL.COM> wrote: >> >> I didn't know Frank had these when I was doing my son's van, so Alistair graciously fabricated some tube brackets out of aluminum that I mounted to the front of the seat back. >> >> The OEM kit is a cleaner solution and easier to install than what I did, which required cutting out the foam and the steel wire that holds the clips that give the seats their sculpture. >> >> I do recommend removing the seat back to work on it, but that requires removing the seat assembly, which isn't that difficult. >> >> Well worth the time and expense for the safety of all the rear seat passengers. >> >> Stuart >> >> -----Original Message----- >> From: Vanagon Mailing List [mailto:vanagon@gerry.vanagon.com] On Behalf Of Jim Felder >> Sent: Monday, July 18, 2016 4:52 PM >> To: vanagon@GERRY.VANAGON.COM >> Subject: Re: Headrests in the back >> >> I have two sets of the tubes you need, and one or maybe two more headrests. >> Stewart in our group has recently had the tubes and hardware fabricated, he >> posted his results. >> >> Jim >> >>> On Mon, Jul 18, 2016 at 6:37 PM Roy Nicholl <RNicholl@nbnet.nb.ca> wrote: >>> >>> Gordon: >>> >>> If you can get the rear seat back or just the tubes from a late model Club >>> Joker / California or Atlantic, you can transplant them.
