Stuart is the winner, I think. It will require a modification of the list server configuration. See: http://stackoverflow.com/questions/14155604/avoid-gmails-this-message-may-not-have-been-sent-by-using-sender-header Here are the headers of the email > > Date: Thu, 1 Sep 2016 17:23:37 -0700 > Reply-To: Stuart MacMillan <stuartmacm@GMAIL.COM> > Sender: Vanagon Mailing List <vanagon@gerry.vanagon.com> > From: Stuart MacMillan <stuartmacm@GMAIL.COM> > Subject: Re: removing gmail warning from vanagon messages? It might work (according to that stackoverflow answer) for Gerry to set the "from" header to something like "no-reply@gerry.vanagon.com". It already sets the reply-to header correctly, so when you hit "reply" it will still go to Stuart. Gmail owns both ends of the transaction--they know that Stuart didn't actually send that email--gerry.vanagon.com sent it. So it sees a "From: " header in an email from gerry.vanagon.com, but it says From: someone@gmail.com and says HEY WAIT A SEC *I'M* GMAIL! I WOULD KNOW IF I SENT THAT--AND I DIDN'T!--SOMEONE MIGHT BE SCAMMING! ... I'd better warn my users. mike On Fri, Sep 2, 2016 at 10:33 AM, Stuart MacMillan <stuartmacm@gmail.com> wrote: > That happens to me too--missing original posts.
