Steve, The under-seat storage on my slide-in middle row captains seats have keys which look similar to my glovebox key (I have not checked to ensure the key way is the same). From what you indicated below, I should be able to have these all re-keyed the same? > On 28-Sep-2016, at 02:08, Steve <vwcarlocks@HOTMAIL.COM> wrote: > > > > A few key and lock questions have been asked, so here we go. > > Slider handle can be rekeyed to match existing keys. > > In the key that must be pulled out, that generally indicates a worn key. If you have a copy made, it will just be another worn out key, but on new metal. It needs to be code cut back to new key specs. Filing the wafers is just a bad idea. It can allow multiple keys to operate the lock. The correctly cut key should solve the problem. > > The glove box key is a different key from ignition and doors. It is a single sided key and is the SC profile. A key can be made for the lock, but there are no code numbers on the locks. > > Feel free to email me if further explanations are needed. > > Steve Sandlin, Registered Locksmith > > Sent from my Verizon Wireless 4G LTE smartphone
