Thanks for the information. I'll start my search for some new winter tires next week in the upper valley off Vermont/New Hampshire and see what I can locate. Jim you noted in your email that "studded tire in the ice are killer " does that mean they are great for the ice or more dangerous than non studied snow tires? Daily driver tires are General Grabbers in 205/75R15 on the A’wagen and a new to me set of Maxmiler WT-1000 185R14 D non-studded winter tires on the Westy. The Maxmilers look like a Hakkapellitta copy. We’ll see how they do. > > Studded tire in the ice are killer, though a good set of non-studded winter tires seem to work just as well. Look for the mountain symbol on the sidewall. https://www.kaltire.com/what-is-the-winter-tire-symbol/ > > Jim > > >> On Nov 2, 2016, at 3:19 PM, Dennis Jowell <dennisjowell@GMAIL.COM> wrote: >> >> Does it make sense to install 4 studded m&s tires for the winter on my 2wd 88' Westy camper? Last winter I slid all over the place with fairly new RO8' tires on the Westy. There was only about 1/4 of wet snow on main street St. J Vermont. We are still planning our trip to Yorktown Va. After thanksgiving. I want to have a safe trip. Any thoughts! >> >> Dennis J >> >> Dennis Jowell >> Scotch Hollow Farm >> Newbury, Vermont
