Steve Bonde, when driving in mountains, sometimes there is a chain up
order. Here in Washington the orders for winter capability is in stages.
One stage allows approved winter tires. One stage requires chains. No
chains, no go. Then of course, the highway may be closed. I will be in
mountains, including several high passes in my upcoming travels. Now, our
plan is that we allow plenty of time, and hole up if necessary and lodging
is available, but who knows?
