Hi all. This is for an '81 2wd manual transmission Vanagon, Jetta 2.0 engine. I see a comment in archives regarding a Kumho 27.7" diameter tire, stock gearing and road noise. Kumho 215/75/15 AT51 (27.6" diameter) users: hows the road noise and 2wd manual tranny gearing? I've ordered new Mefro 15" wheels and am comparing BFG AT KO2 vs Kumho AT51. Tirerack link to Kumho: http://tinyurl.com/gphche2 The Kumho costs less, has a higher load rating and slightly deeper tread but tread pattern aside, appears quite similar to the BFG. As a point of reference, van-cafe indicates the BFG as an option in their Mefro wheel-tire packages.
