Hi all. My Bosch starter is on borrowed time. It spins great until it hits a flat spot. Then it may not spin at all until hit with a hammer. Spare used Bosch starter may be no better. It's my understanding that gowesty made improvements to the latest edition starter they now sell. User input in gowesty starters would be appreciated. Since I'm on a road trip, am considering the gowesty reduction gear starter vs the mullendore adaptor/TDI starter since it *seems* the former will be an easier install while away from home. Much thanks, Neil. -- Neil n Blog: Vanagons, Westfalia, general <http://tubaneil.blogspot.ca> 1988 Westy Images <https://picasaweb.google.com/musomuso/New1988Westy> 1981 Westfalia "Jaco" Images, technical <http://tubaneil.googlepages.com/> Vanagon-Bus VAG Gas Engine Swap Group <http://tinyurl.com/khalbay>
