The striker plate can be moved inward.  Or outward.

after replacing all the bearings, the rear side (left if looking straight
on) of the sliding door on my '88 van is not sitting flush with the body...
the front side is OK, door height is correct all a round...

I followed the Bentley (58.17) to the letter but no deal...

so... is there a trick?
