Is it about blind spot during driving or park sensors? During driving, the modern sensors are useless without the matching counterpart ECU, communicating via CAN bus and stuff. If it´s about park sensors, I used mid 2000s Audi A6 sensors and the relevant ECU to activate the reverse beeper. http://www.v6bus.de/einpark.jpg Not even sure if ECU is using CAN bus, but if so, apologies it´s still useless on the standard Vanagon. In the end, Dug´s solution is the way forward, I just like the sensos being nicely integrated into the bumper, not "attached" :-) Raimund Am 04.06.2017 um 05:44 schrieb Dug Smith: > I've attached some of the generic back up beeper things (4 sensors, 1 > beeper) to my rear bumper - they're powered from the reverse lights. > Seem to work well enough, and were simple enough to install. > > On 6/3/2017 16:40, Harry Hoffman wrote: >> Hi Folks, >> >> I'm curious if anyone has installed blind spot sensors in their van? >> >> I'm doing some research about the possibility of using them up on the >> roof >> where I have racks that extend beyond the roof and a Thule box that >> raises >> the overall clearance requirements. >> >> Cheers, >> Harry >> > > toodle pip, > -- > Dug Smith | Terry Pratchett: It's almost > (mailto:dug@dugbert.com) | impossible to ride a rock and roll > (http://www.dugbert.com) | motorbike and stay on for three verses.
