On my '84 that tube at the bottom in the cab? Mine was packed with grit & what not. As I recall I used a stiff wire to clean it out. I think that they just don't want to bother with anything where parts, if needed, are not available directly from their usual suppliers, or anything that is old, and that in their first opinion may take a little extra attention to detail. But I have a couple of other options, before I undertake to pull it myself and follow instructions. I just have long experience with "easy" jobs for others being harder to do for me, and I more often than not have to redo work over and over to get it right, get impatient, and so on. I realize that others sometimes have that experience, too, but my love of mechanical work is perhaps less than some others. And I don't want to risk damaging an irreplaceable part. I do think it is probably extremely dirty. I don't believe it has ever been serviced. mcneely On Fri, Jun 23, 2017 at 8:21 AM, David Beierl <dbeierl@attglobal.net> wrote: > If they aren't operated too far off level (+/- 8 degrees -- typical RV > fridge is +/- 6 one way and 3 the other way) the cooling unit should last > forever. > > Yrs, > d > > On Fri, Jun 23, 2017 at 10:38 AM, Alistair Bell <albell@shaw.ca> wrote: > > > Dave, > > > > Disappointed that you got the opinion that the fridge ain't worth fixing. > > I find that hard to believe. > > >
