It looks/sounds like the piston cup is rubbing on the actuator arm. Here is a picture of the setup on my Syncro. Notice I have a larger gap between the end of the piston and the arm. Check to see if you still have a "ball" at the end of the lever arm. https://goo.gl/photos/NwThZowFf2gbbXRX6 Good Luck! -Dick- -----Original Message----- From: Vanagon Mailing List [mailto:vanagon@gerry.vanagon.com] On Behalf Of Neil N Sent: Sunday, June 25, 2017 5:25 PM To: vanagon@GERRY.VANAGON.COM Subject: Video of Noise at Clutch Operating Lever. Help Diagnose Please? Hi all. I first noticed this noise at the clutch pedal area. I originally thought the noise was coming from the clutch master cylinder or pedal assembly but the noise is much louder at rear. A short youtube video showing clutch lever operating and noise I hear https://youtu.be/JpM0NNhEVSU Is this what worn out cross shaft bushings sound like? Or ? Clutch, pro rebuilt tranny, slave cylinder all have relatively low miles. After van is driven a while, clutch may shudder when engaging but I think that's a separate issue. Thanks.
