When I put a 93 subie 2.2 in my 87 vanagon the mileage went up about 1 mpg & I could merge like a real car. That 130hp fit the vanagon well. When I put a subie 2.2 in my 84 westy the mileage went up, I could still merge like a real car but on long hills (going to eastern WA) I had to downshift to keep it at the speed limit. The subie 2.2 was great in the vanagon! Rob vwrobb@gmail.com On Jul 8, 2017 5:30 PM, "Annie S. Anderson" <lsandrsn@gmail.com> wrote: Hey Gang, Been a few years since I’ve posted! I’ve been toying with selling my 85 Vanagon for a while but recently decided to go ahead with the Subaru engine conversion so I’ve got some questions for those of you who’ve done it. . . The biggie is - what’s the gas mileage like? And for those of you in Washington State - have you had any issues with licensing or registering your Vanagon with a Subaru engine? Is there anything special I should consider or know about? Thanks! ~Annie Build empires. Create Legacy. ------------ Annie S. Anderson,
