Thank you Neil! No wonder Cunegonde might be clogged up - there is the tank fuelpipe, the pre-pump white box filter, a screen in the pump inlet and also the post-pump filter... 
That's four opportunities for clogging from a 34 y/o gas tank.

Will let you all know what I find when I get underneath. And if that fixes the fuel starvation issue.
